Your Team at Crane: Who's in your corner when you partner with us

By Christine Murry

When a fast-growing business joins our family of portfolio companies, they have the immediate backing of an IT team with experience ranging from tech support to cybersecurity to mobile app development.

When one of our portfolio companies wants to equip an executive with critical management skills, they have access to leadership and development resources that are tailored to meet their needs.

And when another of those companies is looking to expand their operations through acquisitions, our finance, investment, and legal teams have the deal process covered from sourcing to close.

That’s because our investments go far beyond capital.

When Crane Group adds a company to its growing portfolio, we bolster that company with collaborative expertise in six key areas: strategy, legal, leadership, finance, IT, and HR.

Why? Because we value our partnerships, and our goal is to help our companies win.

Take, for example, our recent acquisition of the five companies that make up Fairwood Brands. One of the first business priorities was to create a consistent, competitive employee benefits program for the 200+ employees who just joined our Crane Group family. Accomplishing this goal, however, would require navigating a variety of complex benefits regulations and systems.

Our finance and HR teams immediately went to work researching the different options and helping the business leaders select the plan that would best meet the needs of each company and its employees. Then, they set out to ensure everyone understood the important details of that plan. They sourced videos, created policy booklets in multiple languages, and developed straightforward communication tools the business leaders could use to explain the new benefits.  This behind-the-scenes work allowed the business leaders to stay focused on the big picture, and the new programs were rolled out in a few short months.

We’ve also supported our businesses through swift geographic growth. Pet Paradise, for example, has grown from 26 locations when we first invested in 2016 to 50-plus resorts nationwide. Our IT team has been instrumental in that expansion, providing the foundational tech infrastructure that goes into each new location and creating an accompanying playbook to make set-up and roll-out more standardized and efficient.

At Crane, we strive to support our portfolio businesses with valuable resources that help our partners overcome obstacles and achieve bold things.  But what you also get when we invest is a dedicated, passionate team who cares just as much about your business as you do.

Because the best part for us isn’t just winning, it’s winning together.
